Decisions and behaviors were inconsistent In addition the ialog seemed odd Not fake or stilted just why id she say that right then type of occurrences Environment There wasn t a lot of escription I still have no idea what most of the characters looked like the world building or the machinery that featured prominently Exposition It was strangely placed a few times Like when the main character suddenly Children of the Sun decided to take a couple pages off and reminisce about her mother I guess it was inserted to show motivation or something but just seemed weird in the middle of whatever else was going on There were a couple instances of that Structure I wasn t really a fan of the way head hopping was handled I could figure out POV but sometimes had to backtrack to a previous paragraph to be sure It took me out of the storyOverall it was aecent book I Approaches To Academic Reading And Writing didn t realize it was YA until I finished and pulled up the page to write this review There were a few hallmarks of YA but not enough to proclaim it as such This book read just like how I imagine an Aliens movie would read if it were put into a novelization There are alternating POV s and the POV s are the perfect length to keep a constant pace of the story It only has about six POV s but like I said it s not overwhelming keeping track of so many people I heard that this book was scary to read at night I Living with Lynching: African American Lynching Plays, Performance, and Citizenship, 1890-1930 didn t find it scary enough for that But the bookefinitely had me till the end I hate how the book ended though And I hate that I read the book so uickly after being released I really cannot wait for the second book I m nervous for it though because it can go one of two ways There s a serious potential of it succumbing to SBS Second Book Syndrome I really hope it Witch-Hunt Narrative doesn t but if itoes I ll just pretend book 2 My Hero Academia Series Volume 1 - 20 Books Collection Set by Kouhei Horikoshi doesn t exist and that book 1 is a stand alone No pressure Bowman The crew of the spaceship Odyssey receive aistress signal for assistance on a remote planet Once they land everything the crew encounters #Appears To Be In Disarray #to be in Alcohol Addiction Recovery disarray abandoned Then theyiscover a body And then anotherThis was the second time I ve read this book and for this re read I listened to the audiobook I have to say that I still love it just as much as when I first met the crew of the Odyssey and journeyed to Achlys It was similar to watching a really good movie for the second time and noticing bits and pieces you missed or thought were trivial the first time aroundThis book still gives me Aliens meets The Thing vibes and I love it It was slightly slow in the beginning getting to know all the characters and the three POV Once the crew landed on all the characters and the three POV Once the crew landed on planet the pace picked up and the overall feel of the book got a little cr As a microbiology major and a lover of sci fi horror and complex stories that unravel in completely unexpected ways I love this book The only reason not to buy it is if you are waiting for the seuel to come out and Mars Journey don t wish to wait in between books as I now have to I started reading this book Friday and here I am the following Sunday having just finished itYou will probably like this book if you also likeZombieOutbreak storiesHorrorDramaThrillerComplex characters with hidden motives and multi narrated plots.
