S is a first book then yeah there *is promise for improvement in the next book OK let s get the negative stuff out of the promise for improvement in the next book OK let s get the negative stuff out of the for improvement in the next book OK let s get the negative stuff out of the author would have been well served by hiring a professional editor to comb through this novel before she published it Almost from the first page the reader is hit with a torrent of typos grammatical and punctuation errors inexplicable use of italics and other mistakes These seem to indicate she was in a hurry to upload the book to before she gave it a thorough scrubbing These errors also detracted from my enjoyment of the novel to the point I gave up reading it for the time being after seven or eight chaptersThis is a shame because even though some aspects of the plot were implausible I didn t uite understand how the MC could follow police around a crime scene at a nursing home without anyone batting any eye I found much of it engaging and downright charming As cozies go and I am the first to admit I am not a fan of the cozy mystery genre I did find some scenes and snippets of dialog uite cleverBased on the mystery genre I did find some scenes and snippets of dialog uite cleverBased on the mentioned above I was prepared to give the book a 1 star rating However and even though I have not yet finished the novel there were some redeeming ualities which nudged me to give a 2 star ratingI hope the author pulls the book hires a professional editor to clean up the obvious stuff then runs it past some beta readers Tective that she has developed a school girls crush onIt's not long before she's engulfed in events that will either destroy her or prove to her that it's never too late to be.
