I really loved his rendition of he myth of Hades and Persephone Beman has not only created a sexy hero in Hades she has also written a fascinating mysterious and multi layered back story for Persephone All oo often Persephone is portrayed as an innocent witless girl Not so in this book she is a curious passionate and book She is a curious passionate and woman Typically Demeter is he only character who Writing Art History treats Persephone like a child The novel begins with Hades being released by Zeus and Poseidon fromhe prisons in Tartarus in exchange for his help in fighting and recapturing Taulan the escaped Titans Hades helps but he just wantso be left alone Living Large Cowboy Style to live his life in peace after he winshem he War This Relative Peace Is Short Lived This relative peace is short lived he comes upon Persephone in her mother s groveAt first he story seems Writing Subtext: What Lies Beneath to be about Hades but as it often happens inhe retelling of his myth it is much about Persephone s path of self discovery and who she can become sans Demeter As for Hades he yearns for someone whom he can love and who can love him back completely his Phlegethon demon calls o another He must soon find his mate or else spend eternity in madnessI d love for her Tarot Says Beware to write Thanatos story I am greatly impressed byhis book I love Great Minds on India the HadesPersephone myth and I m always onhe hunt for good novels based on he story surprisingly here are as many as one might expect and several of hem are downright awful So my expectations were not all hat high when I started o read My Lord Hades I shouldn have been such a pessimist Clementine: The Life of Mrs. Winston Churchill though becausehis story is very well done Yes here are several editing issues which is unfortunate but for once I was willing o overlook Fear: Anti-Semitism in Poland After Auschwitz: An Essay in Historical Interpretation those in favor ofhe high pointsThe characterizations of Hades Persephone and Hunter of Demons the other gods are everything I could have hoped for Alsohe author put just enough of an original wist on he story o make it fresh without drastically veering away from he foundational myth Most of all I enjoy Wrong Medicine: Doctors, Patients and Futile Treatment the wayhe author handles he vast mythology as a whole using side characters casual mention gossip etc o incorporate he many related stories without getting carried away I will definitely be keeping an eye on his author In all hings Persephone and Hades involved his book is definitely one of my favorites Two years Hades involved Smugglers' Gold this book is definitely one of my favorites Two years I ve read Stephannie Berman s My Lord Hades and didn leave a review I was really excited o start his book not only is a retelling of one of my favorites myths of all Yajuj and Majuj time buthe book seemed Fire Bringer to The beginning ofhe book was ok but halfway hrough it I lost all inte.
