Tell Me No Lies (Follow Me Back #2)

A.V. Geiger ☆ 3 eview

9918 Yeah this book was kinda a let down and nowhere near as good as Follow Me Back I don t even know what to write my eview about because it eally wasn t that memorable so idk I guess this is where I end21218 UPDATEWE HAVE A FREAKIN COVER AND RELEASE DATE WHYYYYY IS "IT SO FAR AWAYYYYY13317I CANT WAIT A YEAR I NEED TO KNOW Well this book did not disappoint I loved the "SO FAR AWAYYYYY13317I CANT WAIT A YEAR I NEED TO KNOW Well this book did not disappoint I loved the one of the series and this one is just as full of twists and turns that I didn t see coming I eceived an e copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for a honest eview I need a elease date for this With the ending of book 1 I need this NOW Love Obsession Jealousy MurderNo one knows what happened to pop icon Eric Thorn His Twitter account has been inactive since his cryptic tweet a month ago His cell phone was found cracked bloody buried in the snowAgoraphobic fangirl Tessa Hart knows the truth but she s finally left her EricThornObsessed days behind She has no intention of ever touching her Twitter app again especially not after being stalked partly involving Twitter months before But Snapchatthat s safer Fat: An Appreciation of a Misunderstood Ingredient, with Recipes rightAfter months of living under theadar Tessa emerges from hiding forced to face the deadly conseuences of her past But in the interrogation oom answers only lead to uestions in the pulse pounding conclusion to the Follow Me Back duologyTell Me No Lies picks up shortly after the point that Follow Me Back left off If you haven t ead Follow Me Back and want to ead this one you ll definitely need to ead the first book first it wont stand on its own without the context from the first book The first book left off on a cliffhanger so I could not WAIT to get my hands on Tell Me No Lies so of course I started Darkness Light reading it immediately after being approved for it on NetgalleyI don t want to give away too much about the book because of the cliffhanger the first book left off on so thiseview will be on the vague side and will be a little tricky to write Instead of talking too much about the story I ll talk about how I felt about it in order to avoid any spoilersThe first book was told largely though Twitter DMs and conversations which I eally enjoyed This one has less of that but is broken up by past events and the present which are police interview transcripts so there s still a little bit of that type of storytelling There are also some tweets and snapchat conversations throughout the story as well which continued the theme nicely of being told in an alternative format that we saw in the first bookI ll admit that once the book opened and some of my initial uestions were answered I was a little worried the book would be flat and less exciting and dramatic than the first book and I m so happy to eport that I was completely wrong The second installment in the series was just as heart pounding as the first and has just as much if not action and tension and I completely ate it up There were times that I dropped the book in shock with my mouth hanging open because some of the eveals were just that goodAll in all this was an excellent YA thriller and a great conclusion to the Follow Me Back duology If you loved the first "Book You Ll Definitely Want "you ll definitely want pick this one up I ated it 45 stars I d like to thank Netgalley Sourcebooks Fire and AV Geiger for my copy of the book It was my pleasure to provide an honest eview Tell Me No Lies is out on June 5 2018 so be sure to pre order your copy I ead most of it I almost finished I couldn t bothered I eally liked the first book but something about this one just felt off I didn t eally like how it was going from the very beginning Meh Whatever I ll just pretend this doesn t exist Update 1601 Ooooh I like that coverUpdate 2709oooooh there s a title Tell me No lies Intriguing June 1st 2018 huh Great Just great I need this What kind of cruel human being makes you wait a year after an ending. Love Obsession Jealousy MurderNo one knows what happened to pop icon Eric Thorn His Twitter account Frozen His cell phone Cracked and bloody buried in the snow Agoraphobic fangirl Tessa Hart knows. Like that first one was better However if you like addictive thrillers fanfic and social media I would highly Not Handsome Enough recommend this duology Myeviews can also be seen at me No Lies is book two in the Follow Me Back Series by AV Geiger I ead Follow Me Back last year and enjoyed it However I hadn t ealized it was going to be part of a series so I was a "Bit Miffed At The Ending Cliffhanger I Felt Better Once "miffed at the ending cliffhanger I felt better once ealized there was going to be another book in The Series If You Haven series If you haven yet ead book one in this series then I wouldn t Beer Law: What Brewers Need to Know read any further as there may be spoilers At the end of book one we are left not knowing what happened toock star Eric Thorn and Twitter ueen Tessa HartIn book one Eric had been feeling frustrated and anxious Those feelings had increased after another popular GIS and Fruleins: The German-American Encounter in 1950s West Germany rock star was killed by an obsessed fan His PR people made every decision for Eric and it didn t seem like it was about the music any But Eric found an unlikely ally in superfan Tessa Hart Tessa had issues of her own including the fact that she suffered from Agoraphobia Tessa gained notoriety online after creating the hash tag EricThornObsessed on Twitter At first Eric and Tessa clashed but then grew closerNow both Eric and Tessa are gone Eric s Twitter account is frozen and his cell phone was found in the snow smashed with blood all over it So when Tessa suddenly appears months later everyone including the police are sure Tessa knows where Eric isA story of love obsession jealousy secrets and liesThough I did find the beginning a bit slow for the most part this was still a uickead The story is told from present and the past using flashbacks and interspersed are Tweets from Twitter Snapchat messages as well as Police Interview Transcripts Like the first novel there were parts of the story that I found implausible However this is a fictional YA Thriller so I just tried to go with itThe author again shows just how social media can interfere with our lives She brings to light important issues like internet safety stalking and harassment Agoraphobia and other mental health issuesThis was an intriguing The Confederate Privateers read with a lot of action and some good twists and turns Though I did enjoy the first novel in the series a bit than this one I m still glad Iead it as I Big Bad Detective Agency really wanted to find out what happened with Eric and Tessa There were a few things that didn teally work for me and I felt that some uestions were left unanswered but overall I am satisfied with how things came together in the end I d like to thank Sourcebooks Fire and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to The Placer read this book in exchange for my honesteview Had some clever twists but didn t care for it like I did for the first book shrugs perfect second book couldn t guess the identity of the met account was Otto Freundlich: Cosmic Communism real good twist on it Major warning for ableism minor warning for spoiling Follow Me BacksighsWhen Iead Follow Me Back I actually thought it was a standalone Imagine my surprise when it turns out to be the first book in a duology Having enjoyed the book so much of course I d go for Tell Me No Lies when I had the chance to The Tattooist of Auschwitz (The Tattooist of Auschwitz, read itIather wish I hadn t nowTo give credit where it s due Tell Me No Lies is exactly as Profiles in Leadership: Historians on the Elusive Quality of Greatness readable as its predecessor and difficult to put down Every chapter brings some new information big or small to light and demands you keepeading Lately it s been very easy for me
"to put down "
put down book and do something else instead but this is one book that wouldn t let me Once Tessa and Eric get caught by Eric s awful manager and brought back to Hollywood Eric and Tessa both become paranoid messesOh and Blair is out and about of course Still very obsessed with Tessa too Romantically obsessed stalker characters get me every timeThe first sign of what troubles this novel comes from how Tessa and Eric get found in the first place they go to a villa expecting to meet Dorian Cromwell a po. The truth but she's finally left her #EricThornObsessed days behind She has no intention of ever touching her Twitter app again But Snapchat That's safer ightAfter months of living under the adar.
A Step Ahead of Death Secret Lives That Wintry Feeling ERP
P star who also faked his death During a press conference amidst his arraignment for tax evasion Dorian Der Bilderwächter reaches out to Eric and when the opportunity presents itself via Snapchat Ericeplies Our darling couple then proceeds to the villa where Dorian says he ll meet themBut emember Dorian just got arrested for tax evasion after his faked his own death Are the authorities in Europe eally going to elease him and let him go off to Central America for such "a meeting Of course not The guy is a flight isk If Tessa And Eric Had and Eric had just a second to "meeting Of course not The guy is a flight Schätze Aus Dem Musée Picasso, Paris risk If Tessa and Eric had taken just a second to things through they would have known something was up Alas the narrativeeuired they hold the Idiot Ball and walk Letters to Rollins right into an obvious trapThat isn t the only timeeaders will see Britain, Europe And The Third World right through the book either Tell Me No Lies is full of such transparent eyeroll worthy twistsThen comes the ableism See Tessa neverefilled her Ativan also known as lorazepam before she went on the Scotland Yard run with Eric and it s a given that she never did it while hiding with her beau in Mexico either After the two go to Hollywood and Eric s management cooks up the story that she was hired to pull off the publicity stunt of his murder she doesn t get itefilled then either All that leads to her taking her medication very sporadically throughout the bookBIG NO NO THERE FOR MEDS MEANT TO BE TAKEN DAILY Being that I ve been prescribed Paxil as a daily anxiety medication and was formerly prescribed additional Xanax for emergency situations I know a bit about this Taking my Paxil as sporadically as Tessa takes her Ativan would give me flu like symptoms at best and make Paxil less effective in treating my generalized anxiety disorder at worst The Xanax was approved for me to take sporadically but I almost never did Even tiny doses of it knocked me off my feet and sudden anxiety attacks simply didn t happenAnyway Tessa is already on edge in part due to her taking her meds so little but after she and Eric finally have sex she stops taking her Ativan altogether From there she spirals downwards into being a seriously paranoid unreliable narrator Why Because it s so impossible to keep someone on their psychiatric meds and make them an unreliable narratorExcept that s an accurate description of my mother who has been on meds for depression for 20 years and is a highly unreliable narratorNone of this is on Tessa whose easons for taking her meds so haphazardly and then not at all are entirely believable Plus she s a fictional character I m placing the blame on the narrative because it s for the entertainment of largely neurotypical narrators that a mentally ill girl like Tessa is taken off her meds in order to advance and complicate the storyThis happens all the time in any media which stars a mentally ill character No one can think of any other way to tell stories about us We e almost never the Chosen One or the hero entertaining with our journey toward saving the world Characters like us entertain by Suffering Until We Either Die Or Are Granted Live Saving until we either die or are granted live saving at the very end of the bookEven though Tessa gets back on her meds by the end and the message is to stay on them if you have them the novel elies on her mental health meltdown to entertain eaders and give the story of a thrill by making her point of view untrustworthy This is ableism toward the mentally ill Full stop Find better ways to write us or don t write us at all All of us diagnosed or not deserve betterLike I said on TwitterKeep mentally ill YA characters on their meds 2K18Stop taking mentally ill characters off their meds to make stuff happen or make them an unreliable narrator 2K18If you Grand Teton Explorers Guide read and enjoyed Follow Me Back like I did just pretend it s a standalone Pretend Tessa did in fact murder Eric and disappear That s a much better conclusion than what Tell Me No Lies offers you with its ableism unbelievable miscommunications and bad twists. Tessa emerges from hiding forced to face the deadly conseuences of her past But in the interrogationoom answers only lead to uestions in the pulse pounding conclusion to the Follow Me Back duolo. ,
