VerdictLeft to fend for themselves sisters Cashmere and Desiree have to come up with a plan and uick With neither Cashmere and Desiree have to come up with a plan and uick With neither old enough to maintain a legal job their options are limited Violence jealousy and betrayal unfold With elements like jealousy love and betrayal The People Vs Cashmere had potential Unfortunately it never reached it The first half of the novel was long and overdrawn I understand some of the events in the beginning needed to transpire for events in the second half to happen but I would have preferred a uicker route The title was misleading and the synopsis on the book s back cover had a character s name wrong On the plus side I enjoyed some of the pointsknowledge conveyed through some of her characters The People Vs Cashmere overall was an okay read I wouldn t discourage anyone from reading it but I wouldn t really recommend it either Reviewed by Tracy The people vs Cashmere is a fiction written by Karen Williams This book made me think that even though ou might grow up with a good family it doesn t mean everything will be handed to ou Cashmere lived in California with her mom dad and sister She adored her dad liked school but she fought a lot Cashmere thought she had a good life She wasn t poor nor was she rich She really loved to spend time with her dad who was rarely home because of his job Her sister Desiree was a different story she was jealous of cashmere because she had a body like her mother In other words she was hot and was sinking in boys at all hours of the night I really liked this book because it seems so real It s like an adventure Cashmere comes a long way by the end of the novel She has gone through lots of stuff that would make others her age want to of stuff that would make others her age want to would definitely give up Then tragedy hits home for the Pirece family The girls are to live with their aunt but to really survive they had to do thing that I wouldn t do at that are They had to strip and sell drugs to make money They also stopped attending school And to make matters worst this is Desiree plan ppDesiree then turns to something worse she began to prostitute herself for a pimp named Black Not long after that she pulls Cashmere in Black starts to fa. Finding themselves orphans sisters Carmen and Cashmere have to do anything they can to earn some money. The point every detail matched to the story I also like fact that the details were so vivid it was like I had a movie going on in my head Although couldn t relate to the main character I felt what she was going through She was going through betrayal by a person ou thought would never hurt ou which is something I ve been through It wasn t as horrific as hers but I can picture what she was going through Readers that love drama and betrayal mixed with scandals will absolutely love this book Although it s a fiction book the way the author describes every detail makes it seem like she way the author describes every detail makes it seem like she been through the same torture I rate this book a five out of five rating because it kept me on the edge of my seat through every page I read CashmereThis was a good book that kept me interested I will say one of the characters name in the synopsis doesn t match their name in the actual book Though this book has a part 2 I honestly feel that everything was summed up in book 1 First I will start with my one and only negative about this book The editing is awful I preach this time and time again but I know it is in vain Black authors please find someone reliable to edit our books There is no excuse for
