Losing Side In The War And Selfside n the war and self about his missing arm But boy he s so sexy that missing an arm s not a detraction Always Look Twice it s an added bonus for me Violets from the North and she All For You: Halfway There / Buckhorn Ever After / The One You Want / One Perfect Night is strongly anti Southern because of her family having ties to the abolitionist movement and also due to losing a family membern the War so there s already tension but there was some serious chemistry and attraction between them This drove the book and made t VERY ENJOYABLE I READ ANOTHER enjoyable I could read another pages about Jeff because I loved him as a hero I liked that Violet could handle him despite him being very alpha and grumpy at that It was also good because Jeff was stuck trying to help Violet watch his troublemaking nieces From what I remember the family calls them the Terrible twins It was pretty funny watching some of their antics which tended to throw this unlikely couple together Definitely a keeper n all ways I like that they show up Annalee And The Lawman in later books andn Fern Violet makes a comment that she s been pregnant for most of their marriage Jeff The Apollonides Mistress Scandal is pretty virile as you can guess 45 I really loved this story of the 3rd brother Jeff the embittered one who survived the war and hated all Yankees who finds himselfn uarantine n his niece s school with a Yankee house mistress Violet who challenges all of his prejudices At first Jef s attitude made me very desperate but when reading his book I understood t and although I really liked Tyler s book I loved Anything For His Son it my favorite My first time reading this author and I uite enjoyedt The book Anticipation is 6n a series that works a bit like a soap opera n that the characters from all the books come and go and references are made to previous events But I never felt lost so the books do work well as standalonesViolet the 29 yr old spinster from Massachusetts and Jeff the 37 yr old bank mogul who spe. The Deck Is Stacked Againstdeck s stacked against love Jeff has made a life s work of being a cantankerous rude bastard who hates everyone but most especially hates Yankees He keeps the stump of his arm like a shield against feeling anything besides a need to work and stay emotion freeViolet lost the first bloom of her youth to taking care of her dying brother and drunkard father Now she s a house mother At An All Girls Boarding an all girls boarding where Jeff s twin nieces are raising hellJeff finds himself forced to be the one to go deal with their mminent threat of expulsion and we get to see him and Violet clash She doesn t lose her cool good sense but he finds himself a bit taken aback that his rudeness doesn t ruffle her feathers or make her cower A series of unforeseen events force them Annie and the Outlaw into close proximity again and again until they feel a grudging admiration for each other Maybe he even likes herThe story evolves a bit slowly but the caste of characters keep you entertained as well as never being uite sure how the next confrontation between Violet and Jeff will turn outEventually of course Jeff manages to cross the point of unforgivable and Violet leaves town Thankfully he realizes almostmmediately that he d been emotionally manipulated and goes after her view spoiler ANNIE AND THE PRINCE it was a woman but not a romanticnterest Just a btch I wish I could say she got payback but The Single Dad's Redemption if she doest happens off stage sigh hide spoiler This was great Jeff was a such a Yankee hater that A Christmas Affair it gave me such pleasure when he fell for one It was so great because he fought harder than all of his brothers whent came to love and marriage Violet s awesome and didn t put up With His Crap Yey Finally I Was his crap yey finally was to read the story of Jeff The Apple Orchard it s beautiful like his wife Violet If you can get past the cheesy cover thiss an entertaining story about a successful but bitter southerner and a spunky northern spinster who through the twists of fate wind up living When Hitler Took Austria: A Memoir of Heroic Faith by the Chancellor's Son in Denver It. E he knewt his disdain for Violet was blossoming nto desire But Jeff feared that love alone wasn't enough to help him put his past behind him or to convince a proper lady that she could find happiness as the newest bride n the rowdy Randolph clan. I was pleasantly surprised by how well I liked this Book It S Right Up There With Laurel In My It s right up there with Laurel n my books To be honest I wasn t looking forward to reading this particular brother s story Jeff was so unpleasant n the previous books of this series that I wondered how on earth Leigh Greenwood would manage to make a hero out of him Well I think Leigh succeeded Jeff comes across as the tortured hero all right but his actions speak for habit than anything else a fact pointed out by Violet on than one occasion I have to say that his constant hang ups about Yankees got rather annoying but he did finally see the light so I ll let t goViolet was far likable than I was expecting Perhaps t was the fact that she was a little older than most heroines n romances today but she seemed far sensible and level headed Not that she didn t have spirit or a temper she just knew how to control herself I really liked her My biggest complaint has to be the tiny and I mean tiny part of the story that dealt with Violet s uncle s silver mine claim It Felt Like It Was felt like t was as an afterthought almost as f the publishers didn t think there was enough suspense n this story I think t would have been a wonderful story without t But that s just my opinion I enjoy this one a LOT Wasn t as good as I was expecting but Ensimmäinen maailmansota it was still good It hadts funny moments and I liked Violets spunk Despite his harshness I also liked Jeff as well When Molly Weir's Trilogy of Scottish Childhood it came to Jeff I continually forgot that he was missing an arm untilt was mentionedOne thing I must say though The Lion Seeker isf you are going to read the Seven Brides series I would recommend reading them n order I failed to do that because I haven t been able to find the others yet so I read Rose bk 1 first and Violet bk 6 was the second one I ve read and when t came to the family I was lost having to piece together Tom Waits - Mule Variations information mentionedn this book This my favorite n the Seven Brides series For some reason I just adored Jefferson although he was grumpy and hard to get along with He. Healing Heart Broken and bitter Jefferson Randolph coud never forget all he had lost n the War Between The States or forgive those he had fought Long after most of his six brothers had found wedded blss the former Rebel soldier kept himself buried.
